I have over 28 years of architectural experience in design and construction and have worked on a variety of building types across the southeast. These projects include commercial construction, medical office buildings, restaurant and kitchen design, institutional, interior tenant planning, educational and high-end custom residences. I am a registered and licensed architect in both Georgia and South Carolina, and I am also LEED BD+C certified.
My firm is currently working on obtaining WOSB certification. My expertise spans across the entire building process from programming and planning through design, detailing and construction. I can offer my clients full architectural and interior planning services. I am project manager who can balance your budget, schedule, and project goals while keeping a strong focus on the importance of design and the environment.
After moving from Atlanta to Bluffton in 2017, I had the opportunity to design several custom residences in some of the most beautiful and scenic neighborhoods in Beaufort County. Most planned neighborhoods in the Lowcountry have numerous regulations and design guidelines that require multiple design review board approvals. Often, there is a standard architectural language that needs to be followed. My designs are unique, adaptable, and are designed to meet with every owner's lifestyle, budget and design review board approval.
My passion for mid-century design, clean simple forms, salt box architecture, and a functional efficient floor plan blends well into a unique style that I call "Modern Lowcountry". I enjoy working through the entire design process with clients and creating a residence that works and flows the way your family does. I ask a lot of questions and focus on adjacencies and function while providing specialized personal attention to your design goals and the details.
I developed a passion for teaching while working for a school district in New York during high school. I enjoyed working with students, but also had a strong interest in both art and math and sought to find a career path that could support these interests. After attending Virginia Tech for Architecture, I dedicated my thesis year to "Redefining Elementary Architecture”. While researching educational design firms for my thesis, I was consistently drawn to the philosophy and planning of Perkins and Will. Several years later I was able to work alongside these extremely talented designers in planning, programming and designing educational projects for Perkins and Will in Atlanta. I completed numerous projects for both private and public clients that varied in both scale and complexity. My portfolio includes a vast range of projects from 2 classroom additions, historic renovations, new 250,000+ square foot state of the art educational facilities, to entire campus vision plans.
My educational programming, planning, design and construction experience can add balance and insight to your next educational planning project and provide you with a new vision of how your educational facility could inspire all who work and learn within its walls.
